My immersion back into India came earlier than expected: Janakpur is an Indian town in all but geography. Sitting a few kilometres from the Indian border (where only Indians and Nepalese can cross) the town is a pilgrimage site for Hindus, a bustling market town and Indian in everything from the smell to the scenery.

Hetauda is one of the cleanest and greenest cities in Nepal. Due to its geographical features and its climate, it has been a popular choice for people migrating from the northern hilly regions to the south. Hetauda is a doon, which means that it has a valley like geography.

Dharan is a major city located in the foot hills of eastern Nepal. Well paved roads, remarkable homes and beautiful scenery aren't all that makes Dharan. It embraces cleanliness, openness, friendly hill people and their smiles. Dharan grew after British setup the `Gurkha Recruitment Center' in 1953, which helped many Nepalese earn employment. Two ethnic groups namely Rais and Limbus used to constitute the major portion of Gurkah soldiers. These groups came from the eastern region of Nepal, and Dharan was their center for training.
