The Raging River

 

Marsyangdi RiverMarsyangdi river, lying in the Annapurna Range in Nepal, is considered one of the best rivers in the world for rafting. Its speciality is exhilarating whitewater with impressive mountain backdrops. For reaching there, the rafters have to drive up to Beshishahar and then take a 4/5 hours trek further up to Nagdi. In local dialect, the literal meaning of Marsyangdi is 'raging river'. Marsyangdi river rafting tour passes through different landscapes and the distance it covers is approximate 65km.

The Experience

Rafting expedition to Marsyangdi River commences with a deep and pathless gorge, which slowly descends to arid landscapes. Long high ridges of far West Nepal's middle mountains draw the rafters' attention. The lower part of the sprightly river is deep canyons - wild and sparsely populated.

 

The river flows through some of the finest jungle scenery inNepal. One has opportunities to see wildlife along the river banks. Raft on River Marysangdi brings the rafter across varied natural features like valleys, hills, gorges, canyons and jungles.
